Monarch Migration

Beautiful mistakes
Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes
Stuff that makes you late
Kids you couldn't possibly create
All the jobs you couldn't take
yet here we are to face another day
--------
Sweet child riding on her bike
Smiling and humming
Far out of sight
Away from every care in the world
She's always spinning her Wheels
Trying to find a place to rest
She hasn't really found one yet
She's fixing her flat with a rubber mallet
Looking at the ceiling with a butterfly
Trying to understand just how it flies
--------
Monarch living just a few weeks
butterfly migration is the key
to your life cycle of ecstasy
flying in colors we can't believe
Even if it's only for a spell
You're a brief and beautiful sprinter
That goes away in splendor
You never stop to remember How-
How short life is,
you just fly in the now

Just fly in the Now
Just fly in the Now
It doesn't take big brains to figure this one out
One day at a time is all we have
So get back on that bike
and remember that
Butterfly flittering out in front of you
She only has a week or two
to let her colors shine completely true
Go back out there, and
Show the world what you can do
--------
Beautiful mistakes
Mistakes, mistakes, mistakes
Stuff that makes you late
Kids you couldn't possibly create
All the jobs you couldn't take
or the women you couldn't date

Yet here we are to face another day
Just fly in the now, and color your cares away

Help me find a place to rest
a drink of water
on a precipice
if even once in a while
I am a butterfly
buoyed by your smile
